Résumé en anglais The life-span of Niphargus virei is estimated with the length histograms of annual summer samples; it fits in with the data of rare spring distributions and with the growth observed in the laboratory. Increase in body wet weight confirms the low growth rate of this species (maximum: 0.06 mg/day); the mean age of populations changes on account of rainfall, which determines the drift of part of the population out of its natural habitat.
