En Basse-Normandie, lors de l'été 1983, de nombreux cas d'intoxications alimentaires ont été relevés, attribués à la consommation de moules. Dans le même temps un dinoflagellé Dinophysis acuminata est observé en baie de Seine et en Haute-Normandie où de fortes concentrations induisent des « eaux rouges ». Les examens des contenus stomacaux des moules montrent que ce Dinophysis est un des principaux constituants du bol alimentaire. La toxicité du type DSP, appréciée par le test-souris, est plus ou moins bien corrélée avec les indices d'abondance de D. acuminata. La distribution spatiale de l'espèce paraît également lié aux mouvements de la marée. |

Numerous cases of food poisoning were observed in South Normandy during the summer 1983 and attributed to shellfish consumption. At the same time a dinoflagellate Dinophysis acuminata was found in the Bay of Seine and in north Normandy where high concentrations induced "red waters". The observation of the stomach contents of the mussels showed that this Dinophysis was one of the main constituents of the alimentary bolus. The toxicity of type DSP, determined by the mouse-test, is more or less correlated with the abundance coefficient of D. acuminata . Its space distribution also seems connected to the tidal movements. |
