Abstract
The Molluscan Shellfish Culture Seminar was organized at the initiative of the Planning Group on Aquaculture that came out, following Canadian proposal, from the Working Group "Technology, Growth and Employment" established by the Heads of States and Governments at the Versailles Summit (June 1982).
When preparing the Seminar, the following objectives were selected :
- to identify the need and opportunities offered by research and technological progress for the development ot bivalve molluscan cultivation,
- to assess their likely economic effects as weIl as their probability of success,
- to determine priorities for research and technological development and the actions liable to benefit from international cooperation. [OCR NON CONTRÔLE]
