Résumé en anglais Observations have been made on time variation in the physical, chemical and biological characteristics of the pelagic ecosystem. Simultaneous studies in different places also shows evidence for space variations. Differences between years in zooplankton species abundance are linked to principal climatic events (flow of large rivers, extreme temperatures). A better understanding of differences in zooplankton between nearby places has been obtained by taking into account the coastal configuration currents systems and water stability.
