AB After solubilization of ovocyte-membranes from the crayfish Orconectes limosus , a component with a molecular weight of 30 kDa and capable to fix vitellogenin specifically, could be characterized by SDS-PAGE and by electroblotting. Because this isolated component is sensible to the digestion of proteolytic enzymes such as pronase, it is assumed that it is a protein. A polyclonal antiserum is produced against this component and its tissue-specificity is verified by ELISA.
