AB L'arsenic est un élément important dans le milieu marin par son niveau de présence 1 000 fois plus élevé que celui du mercure et son comportement qui s'apparente à celui du phosphore. Cette synthèse rappelle quelques notions chimiques et biochimiques et fait le point des connaissances concernant les sources et les niveaux de présence dans les eaux estuariennes et océaniques, dans les sédiments marins et les espèces vivantes. Les problèmes de toxicité pour l'écosystème et pour les consommateurs sont abordés ainsi que les méthodes analytiques permettant son contrôle.
AB Arsenic is an important element in marine environment due to its level 1,000 times higher that of mercury and its behavior close to that of  phosphorus. This overview recalls few chemical and biochemical basis and presents the current state of knowledge about its sources, concentration levels in estuarine and oceanic waters, sediments and biota. Toxicity for species, ecosystems and consumers, and analytical methods for its control are approached.
