||Sampling was carried out during 1970 at 22 stations from 72 degree -62 degree N; the sampling period varied from 21 minutes - 42minutes. 12 species of zooplankton were recovered consisting of specimens of copepods, euphausiids, chaetognathes, medusae, amphipods, pteropods and decapods. They were most abundant in the central zone, especially in 2 areas of maximum concentration (where the catch exceeded 100 cm super(3)) located 72 degree N and 67 degree N. Fish captured included young cod, rockfish and halibut; they were found mostly around these areas of maximum zooplankton concentrations. Only immature fish were recovered in this region; the adults had deserted these waters due to unusual and permanent low temperature water in the superficial layers.
