AB Pendant la campagne de la Thalassa dans les eaux du plateau continental nord-est américain: golfe du Maine, bancs de la Nouvelle-Ecosse et de Terre-Neuve, nous avons étudié un certain nombre de lots de Sebastes. Ces observations ont porté sur les deux espèces. Sebastes Mentella et Sebastes Marinus. L'examen de nos résultats en fonction des conditions hydrologiques également étudiées lors de cette campagne, a permis d'établir des corrélations intéressantes Sur l'écologie de ces deux espèces. Nous espérons que ces données apporteront une contribution à la connaissance de la biologie et de l'écologie du genre Sebastes des côtes de l'Amérique nord-est et qu'elles fourniront des informations utiles à l'exploitation rationnelle de ses stocks. AB During the expedition of the "Thalassa" on the north-east American continental shelf covering the Gulf of Maine, the Nova Scotia Banks and the Newfoundland Banks, we studied a number of samples of rockfish. These observations involved two species, Sebastes mentella and S. marinus. The examination of our results with respect to the hydrological conditions also studied during this cruise helped established interesting correlations in the ecology of these two species. We hope that these data will contribute to our knowledge on the biology and ecology of the Sebastes genus on North American shores and that they will provide useful information for the rational exploitation of their stocks.
