AB Ce travail fait à un an d'intervalle mais à la même saison, complétera utilement celui de l'hiver 1960 qui a eu pour objet l'hydrologie du secteur algéro-tunisien.   Naturellement conduits à la suite de cette dernière étude à rechercher l'extension des eaux profondes,algéro-atlantiques, vers le nord, nous avons profité d'un passage de la «Thalassa » au centre du bassin occidental pour faire, du 7 au 12 janvier 1961, trois lignes de stations profondes (fig.1), à savoir: 1) du sud au nord, le long du Se méridien, depuis le large de l'Algérie jusqu'au 40e parallèle; 2) du sud-est au nord-ouest, entre Alger et la côte occidentale de Sardaigne; 3) d'ouest en est, de l'île de Minorque à la Sardaigne, un peu au sud du 40e parallèle. Ces trois coupes vont être étudiées dans l'ordre précité. [OCR NON CONTRÔLE] 
AB This research was intended to complement research carried out in the winter of 1960, a hydrological study carried out in Algerian-Tunisian waters. Given the results of a previous study, we were naturally prompted to explore the extension of deep Atlantic waters to the north, off the coast of Algeria. We took advantage of the passing of the "Thalassa" through the western Mediterranean Sea to deploy three transects with deep stations (Fig. 1). These were the following:1) from south to north, along the 5th meridian, off the shore of Algeria up to the 40th parallel;2) from south-east to north-west, between Algiers and the western coast of Sardinia;3) from west to east, from Minorca to Sardinia, slightly south of the 40th parallel. These three transects will be presented in that order.
