AB Du 22 septembre au 19 décembre 1955, cinq organismes d'étude ont travaillé conjointe afin d'améliorer la connaissance des eaux pacifiques, centraIes et orientales. Le navire « Hugh M, Smith », du « Pacific Oceanic Fishery Investigation », a obtenu des renseignements d'ordre physique, chimique et biologique sur la zone parcourue par le courant équatorial entre les longitudes 158° O et 105° O, Une unité de la flotte péruvienne a recueilli des informations sur la limite Nord, voisine de l'Equateur, du courant de Humbolt. Deux vaisseaux de la «Scripps Institution of Oceanography» (Université de Californie), le « Spencer F. Baird» et l' « Horizon », ont concentré leurs efforts dans la région comprise entre le méridien 125° O et le continent américain. A ces bâtiments s'est adjoint le « Scofield » du Fish and Game of California. [OCR NON CONTRÔLE] 
AB From September 22nd to December 19th, 1955, five research agencies collaborated in the study of Pacific, Central and Eastern waters. The vessel "Hugh M, Smith" belonging to the "Pacific Oceanic Fishery Investigation", recorded physical, chemical and biological information on the area crossed by the Equatorial current between longitudes 158° W and 105° W. A unit of the Peruvian fleet gathered information on the northern boundary of the Humbolt current, next to Ecuador. Two vessels from the "Scripps Institution of Oceanography" (University of California), the "Spencer F. Baird" and the "Horizon", focused on the area located between meridian 125° W and the American continent. The "Scofield" of the Fish and Game of California later joined the fleet.
