AB A partir de l'examen d'enregistrements de séismique réflexion continue (Flexotir), on met en évidence une nette différence morphologique entre la marge nord-algérienne et les autres marges du bassin algéro-provençal. Cette différence se manifeste en particulier par un approfondissement des horizons sédimentaires en bordure de l'Algérie, qui peut être expliqué par l'existence, à ce niveau, d'un fossé d'origine compressive en cours de formation. AB From the study of continuous seismic reflection profiles (Flexotir) we have revealed a marked morphological contrast between the Northern Algerian margin and the other margins of the Balearic basin. Such a difference is made particularly clear by a downwarping of the sedimentary layers at the limit of the Algerian margin. This downwarping could be explained by the existence of a trench being formed by compression. [NOT CONTROLLED OCR]
