Une forme nouvelle d'Ampharetidae (Annélide Polychète sédentaire) a été récoltée en mer profonde entre 2100 et 4200 mètres, dans le nord du Golfe de Gascogne. Elle constitue le type d'un genre nouveau, Noanelia gen. n., relativement isolé à l'intérieur de la famille. Certains caractères génériques peuvent être considérés comme primitifs.
