AB L'analyse des données géologiques et géophysiques concernant le bassin nord-africain et ses bordures a montré l'importance d'une famille d'accidents d'orientation NE-SW représentée en particulier par le seuil d'Alboran, la ride de l'Emile-Baudot et la zone de fracture nord-tunisienne.  Un travail récent (AUZENDE et coll., Londres, Feb. 1972) a montré que cette famille d'accidents pouvait s'interpréter comme un unique système de failles transformantes liées à la création du bassin nord-africain. AB The analysis of the geological and geophysical data on the North African basin and its edges highlighted the importance of a group of accidents in the NE-SW direction, embodied by the Alboran and Emile-Baudot ridges and the northern Tunisian fracture zone. A recent work (Auzende et al., London, Feb. 1972) showed that this family of accidents could be interpreted as a unique system of transforming faults linked to the creation of the North African basin.
