AS 1:;2:; FF 1:;2:; TC 0 UR https://archimer.ifremer.fr/doc/1980/publication-5418.pdf LA English DT Article DE ;Histoire Ifremer AB The MAPCO cruise of RV J. Charcot sampled zero-age basalts along the Mid-Atlantic Ridge from the Azores Triple Junction to 24 N. Preliminary shipboard geochemical analyses together with earlier data show that some trace elements are not randomly distribued along the ridge. The latitude of the Haves transform delineate two regions of rare earth element distribution : north from Hayes, is flat to light rare (or equivalent) enriched : south from Hayes, is light rare earth (or equivalent) depleted. These findings indicate large scale heterogeneity of the upper mantle. [NOT CONTROLLED OCR] PY 1980 SO Nature PU Macmillan Journals VL 286 IS 5770 BP 209 EP 212 ID 5418 ER EF
