Tournés vers la Manche où les zones côtières sont peu propices à l'emploi du chalut de fond, les ports de Bretagne Nord ont développé une flottille et une activité orientées vers la capture des invertébrés et en particulier des gros crustacés. Après avoir centré leur activité, au début du XIXème, sur le homard (Homarus gammarus) et la langouste (Palinurus elephas), les flottilles se sont orientées à partir des années 1970 vers la pêche des crabes tourteau (Cancer pagurus)et araignée (Maja squinado). Dans une première partie le document rappelle le contexte d'exploitation et présente les flottilles concernées. La seconde partie est consacrée à l'étude des paramètres biologiques du tourteau : croissance, reproduction, migrations et pathologies. La troisième partie, consacrée à l'exploitation et au suivi du stock de tourteau est une analyse des données d'effort de pêche, des apports, des rendements et de la composition des captures. |

Due to the unsuitability of the north brittany coastal fishing grounds for trawling, the fishing activity of the harbours of this coast has been oriented towards the catch of invertebrates and peculiarly the large crustaceans.After, in the beginning of the XIX century, looking for lobster and spiny lobster, fishing has been, since the seventies, centered on the catch of the edible crab (Cancer Pagurus) and of the spider crab (Maia squinado).
The first part of this document introduces the context of the exploitation and the concerned fleets. The second part treats of the biological parameters of the edible crab: growth, reproduction, migration and pathologies. The third part, devoted to the exploitation and the monitoring of the edible crab stock, is an analysis of the fishing effort, landings, efficiency and catch composition |
