AB Le dossier thématique « Les objets techniques au prisme du cycle hydrosocial » présente une approche renouvelée des rapports eaux et sociétés en sciences humaines et sociales. Ce renouveau dans les recherches en SHS s’inscrit dans des approches interdisciplinaires et se situe à la croisée de deux importants champs d’étude : les études des sciences et techniques et la Political Ecology. Ces deux courants sont mobilisés pour approfondir l’analyse de la relation dialectique entre objets techniques et systèmes hydrosociaux via la notion de cycle hydrosocial. Il s’agit d’appréhender la manière dont les infrastructures et dispositifs transforment et façonnent au fil du temps les relations eau/société, leurs contours et leurs modes de fonctionnement et réciproquement. En introduction au dossier thématique, cet article évoque les enjeux théoriques et épistémologiques associés à l’étude de cette relation avant de présenter les contributions réunies dans le dossier qui proposent, à travers une diversité d’études empiriques, une mobilisation variée de la notion de cycle hydrosocial pour approfondir la mise en lumière des relations dialogiques eau-société. 
AB This special issue entitled " Technical objects at the prism of hydrosocial cycle : new theoretical and empirical approaches " presents new insights concerning water-society relations in social sciences. It is characterized by interdisciplinary approaches and engages with two main theoretical frameworks : science and technology studies and political ecology. Both are indeed mobilized in order to deepen the analysis of the dialectical relation between technical objects and hydrosocial systems, by using the concept of hydrosocial cycle. Our aim is to explain how "infrastructure" and "apparatus" forge and transform water-society interrelations, reshape them and modify their functioning. But also how the hydrosocial cycle, in return, sets out particular forms of infrastructure and apparatus. This paper firstly introduces the theoretical and epistemological debates linked to this special issue. And then it presents the thirteen papers gathered in this special issue, which, based on empirical studies, offer different uses of hydrosocial cycle approach to investigate water/society dialectical relations.
