AB Cet article plaide la cause d’un Océan, Bien Commun de l’Humanité. Dans le cadre de la réflexion stratégique actuelle en Nouvelle-Calédonie, il dégage 6 priorités stratégiques qu’il met en face des caractéristiques de notre océan, unique, sans frontières, indispensable à la vie, résilient mais malade, en interaction constante avec l’humain, source de bien être et de dépassement de soi, source de convoitises et de compétitions et qui ne correspond pas aux notions communément admises de biens communs mondiaux. Il dégage la dimension hautement éthique des questions posées et suggère d’approfondir un travail transversal d’information, de sensibilisation et d’éducation à l’océan, notamment envers les jeunes générations. 
AB This article pleads the cause of an Ocean as Common Good for Humanity. Within the framework of the current strategic thoughts in New Caledonia, it identifies 6 strategic priorities that it puts in front of the characteristics of our ocean : unique, without borders, indispensable to life, resilient but sick, in constant interaction with the human, a source of well-being and self-fulfillment, a source of greeds and competition, which does not correspond to commonly accepted notions of world commons. It highlights the highly ethical dimension of the questions asked and suggests deepening a transversal work of information, awareness raising and ocean education, especially towards the younger generations.
