Etude des transports de matieres en suspension en Manche par l''emploi de l'imagerie CZCS

The suspended matter distribution in Channel surface waters during 1981 have been obtained by the interpretation of radiometer recording (Coastal zone Color Scanner working on Nimbus 7 satellite). After imagery calibration and calculation of suspended matter concentration using algorithm from in situ measurements, the maps interpretation allows the study of: (1) resuspension of infratidal fluvial particles by swells and tides; (2) characterizing of intertidal zone given estuarine material by erosion; (3) determination of river plume limits with regard to Seine flow rate; (4) calculation and modeling of solid load; (5) estimation of suspended particles masses and volumes to strike the balance; (6) differentiation of hydrobiological behaviors in Western and Eastern Channel basins.
