Abstract |
Vibrio anguillarum was isolated from diseased seabass reared in aquatic farms (hatcheries and grow-out farms) located along the French Mediterranean coast. A representative strain (V62) differs from the French V. anguillarum strain (V408) by its ability to grow on a 0% salinity medium. The pathogenicity of the representative strain for sea bass was confirmed by injections and bath challenge. The V62 strain reacted with V. anguillarum antiserum (V408) and 84% of the isolated strains from diseased sea bass agglutinated with anti V62 serum. |
