On connaît trois espèces du genre Heterorhabdus GIESBRECHT en Méditerranée: H. papilliger (CLAUS), H. spinifrons (CLAUS) et H. abyssalis (GIESBRECHT). Les deux premières sont assez courantes, mais la dernière est exceptionnelle et citée en deux secteurs seulement, comme nous le verrons plus loin. De nombreux spécimens appartenant à ces trois espèces ayant été identifiés dans le matériel récolté par le « Président Théodore Tissier » en Méditerranée nord~occidentale (automne 1958), il nous a paru intéressant d'apporter quelques précisions sur la morphologie et sur l'écologie de ces Copépodes. Three species of the genus Heterorhabdus Giesbrecht are known in the Mediterranean Sea: H. papilliger Claus, H. spinifrons Claus and H. abyssalis Giesbrecht. The first two species are common but the third species is exceptional and was recorded in only two sectors, as we will see below. Many specimens belonging to these three species were identified in the samples from the expedition on board the "Président-Théodore-Tissier" in the north-western Mediterranean Sea in the autumn of 1958. Here we give some details on the morphology and the ecology of these copepods. |
