Une forme de Gonophysema (Copépode parasite d'Ascidie) a été récoltée en Méditerranée dans un hôte nouveau pour le genre, Distomus variolosus. Cette forme ne se distingue ni morphologiquement, ni anatomiquement, de G.gullmarensis, unique espèce du genre. Son statut spécifique ne peut cependant être défini avec certitude. A species of Gonophysema (Copepod parasitic in Ascidians) has been found in the Mediterranean living in Distomus variolosus, which is a new host for the genus. This form is morphologically and anatomically indistinguishable from G. gullmarensis, single species of the genus. However, its specific rank can not be established with certainty. Gonophgsema (eine ascidicole Copepode) ist lebend im Distomus variolosus, ein neuer Wirt dieser Gattung, im Mittelmeer gefunden worden. Da es nicht moglich ist, die neue Form auf morphologischer und anatomischer Grundlage von G. gullmarensis, der bis jetzt einigen Art dieser Gattung, zu unterscheiden, bleibt seine specifische Stellung noch unklar.
