Chez une huîre plate provenant d'un lot en cours d'affinage en claire (La Tremblade), on a observé sur une branchie une tâche jaunâtre de 4 mm de diamètre environ. A la loupe, on pouvait voir qu'il s'agissait d'une nécrose superficielle de la branchie. Sur coupes histologiques, on nota que la structure de la branchie était profondément perturbée: à l'endroit de la tâche, plusieurs plis de filaments étaient agglomérés en une masse compacte reliant les deux feuillets de la branchie (fig. 1).

A yellowish mark of around 4 mm in diameter has been observed on the gill of a flat oyster from a batch in finishing process in a fattening pond (La Tremblade). With a magnifying glass, it has been described as a superficial necrosis of the gill. On the histological sections, we noticed that the gill structure was heavily disturbed: in the mark, several filament plicae had agglomerated in a compact mass joining the two gill sheets.
