Deux années de prélèvements bimensuels de l’ ichthoplancton sur un réseau de 8 points situés de oart et d’autre d’une zone frontale côtière sont analysées. Une analyse en composantes principales est effectuée sur la matrice observations-variables (taxons), et permet de distinguer en été deux groupes de points auxquels se rattachent deux groupes de taxons caractérisant chaque compartiment hydrologique. En été, le suivi de deux « points fixes »pendant un cycle de marée dans la zone stratifiée et dans la zone frontale a permis de déceler des fluctuations périodiques qualitatives et quantitatives du mérplancton, fluctuations qui peuvent être reliées au déplacement du front par les courants de marée.

A two years ichthyoplankton sampling program over an eight station network on each side of a coastal tidal front was conducted twice a month during neap tides. A principal component analysis was performed on the data (taxa and observations) which were segregated during the summer into two groups of taxa related to two groups of stations belonging to two different hydrodynamical areas. In July and August 1980 during a tide cycle, zooplankton was investigated at two stations in the stratified and transitional area. Periodic fluctuations of meroplanktonic taxa correlated to the movement of the front induced by the tide were observed.
