Some observations on the development of the mangrove on the Equador and Peru continental coast

The mangrove swamps of Ecuador and Peru are described and the principal species of the Rhizophora family are identified, as well as the principal factors, physical structure, climate, temperature, weather conditions, rain fall and tidal changes, for the purpose of establishing a pattern of forests and zones of mangrove swamps. It is concluded that the theory of West concerning the latitudinal distribution of the mangrove swamps (1977), is the best for that coastal area. In conclusion it is recommended that some area of mangrove swamps be declared a national parks - national conservancy area of Scientific Interest.
