Au cours de la campagne de pêche 1986, nous avons comparé les captures de germon (Thunnus Alalunga, Bonnaterre) et les structures thermiques superficielles établies au Centre de Météorologie Spatiale par télédétection infrarouge. La télédétection présente un intérêt opérationnel évident pour le pilotage des germoniers prospecteurs (ligneurs) désignés pour rechercher des zones de pêche. En l'absence de thoniers prospecteurs, des structures thermiques qui étaient peut-être favorables n'ont pas été explorées.

During the fishing season of 1986, comparison have been made between catches of albacore (Thunnus Alalunga, Bonnaterre) and thermal structures of the sea surface, computed by the "Centre de
Météorologie Spatiale" with infrared remote sensing. The operationnal advantage of remote sensing is obvious for the scouting tuna vessels (trollers) appointed to seek for fishing areas. Without such scouting trollers thermal structures which were perhaps favourable were not investigated.
