Abstract | This poster presents the sagittal otoliths of the main demersal species exploited around Martinique and Guadeloupe islands. These calcified structures in inner-ear are used to estimate the fish ageing and others biological parameters. The otolith shape is an efficient tool to discriminate the stock unit (or management unit) of these species. These data were carried out and analysed during the research project ACCOBIOM (2021-2022) which aims to specify the state of the exploited populations in the different habitats around the French Caribbean islands, and thus contribute to the stock assessment of demersal fish. |
